Central Virginia Fashion Week 2019

Here are several pieces from the CVFW collection that walked the runway in downtown Lynchburg Virginia. The featured techniques in this collection are hand cut leather fringe and hand crafted chiffon petals.

Urban Africa 2017

Here are several pieces of the collection that walked the floor in downtown Manhattan, modeled by the children of City of Hope, for the “Stacey Sauerberg Leadership Initiative” launch party. These pieces are all TENZI original designs that were constructed as a collaborative effort of Tenzi Chacha and Tanzanian students. The collection featured pieces that where hand beaded as well as chained.

 

Ferocity Ablaze 2016

This collection was created for Liberty University’s annual fashion show. The theme that year was “Count Down to Chic.” The criteria for the show was that all of the pieces had to be inspired by outer space. The specific inspiration for this collection was the sun. The collection won the “Best Multiple Piece Collection” and “4th Place” awards. Every piece was fully designed and constructed by Tenzi Chacha.

The Beauty of Nature 2015

This collection was created for Liberty University’s annual fashion show. The theme that year was “Cotton Couture, Nature’s Dream”. The criteria for the show was that all of the garments be inspired by nature and least 60% of each garment be made of cotton. The specific inspiration for this collection was the four seasons. This Collection won the “Best Use of Color” and “2nd Place” awards. Every piece was fully designed and constructed by Tenzi Chacha.

Hand crafted fabric flowers. Oral presentation on the story of this garment won 1st place in the creative portion of Liberty University’s 2016 Undergraduate Research Symposium

Cycled Chic 2014

This collection was created for Liberty University’s annual fashion show. The theme that year was “Go Green, Go Glam”. The criteria for the show was that at least 60% of each garment had to be constructed of reused materials. This collection won the “Most Creative” and “Best in Show” awards. Every piece was fully designed and constructed by Tenzi Chacha.

Soda Pop Punk

This dress was made from a jumper, suit jacket, and bottle tops, all of which were 2nd hand. The bottle caps were flattened, punched, then hand sewn. This dress was also on display at the 2014 ITAA (International Textiles and Apparel Association) Conference and selected to be in the opening show of DC Fashion week 2015.

Paisley Gala

This dress was made of a suit jacket, dress shirt, neckties, and jumper, all of which were second-hand.
